How are we addressing COVID-19?
Please be assured that Meltzer Eye Care Center is taking every measure to guarantee the safety of our patients and staff. We are closely monitoring and following guidance from the CDC and local health officials. We will remain open to care for patients and provide essential medical care. That being said we want you to rest assured knowing we have taken every precaution to prevent the spread of infectious disease in our offices.
In our office we continue to strictly adhere to hygiene and infection control protocols. We have reinforced staff training in basic and advanced hygiene and confirmed our cleaning and disinfection techniques are consistent with CDC recommendations.
We have increased our surveillance of patients who have scheduled appointments. All patients who receive appointment reminders are advised of the following: If you’ve felt feverish and/or had a cough in the last 24 hours, please call our office to reschedule your appointment.
We also have attempted to limit close contact between patients by organizing the seating in the waiting area in a way that avoids close contact. Also, all waiting room magazines, books and reading materials have been discarded.
Our goal is to be diligent in protecting our patients and staff from unnecessary exposure while continuing to provide them with the medical care they need.
This is a rapidly evolving situation and we will change our processes and policies as deemed necessary to ensure the safety of all.
